　Lawyer

是指精通法律条文，并且有资格在法庭上践行法律或者充当法律顾问的人。

Attorney

通常可以与lawyer换用，但是在更精确的用法中，它指的是为客户充当法律代理人的律师，处理诸如转移财产、立遗嘱、在民事案件中辩护或提起诉讼等事务。

Counselor

是指可以接手诉讼案件并且就法律问题给出建议的人。

意为“出庭律师”，是英式英语中counselor的对应词，更强调在高等法院里出庭辩诉。
